Amaavati, Nov 3: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has rejected the plea to impose additional conditions for the interim bail granted to former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in a case related to an alleged skill development scam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Justice Mallikarjuna Rao, presiding as a single judge, delivered this decision in response to a petition filed by the Crime Investigation Department (CID) to add extra conditions to the interim bail of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Naidu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier, on October 31, the High Court had granted Naidu interim bail on medical grounds for a period of four weeks, which allowed him to be released from Rajahmundry Jail, where he had been incarcerated for 52 days. The court had imposed certain conditions while granting the bail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, the CID subsequently filed a petition seeking additional conditions. The CID argued that Naidu had already started to violate the conditions imposed by the court. They provided evidence of Naidu’s alleged violations, including holding a political rally and addressing the media upon his release from prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The CID requested that two police officers be assigned to monitor Naidu’s activities, but the court rejected this request. Instead, the court suggested that Naidu’s activities be monitored with the assistance of the state’s intelligence wing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Naidu’s legal counsel argued that imposing additional conditions would infringe upon his fundamental rights and denied that Naidu had violated the interim bail conditions. The court dismissed the CID’s request for additional conditions and ruled that the conditions initially imposed when granting interim bail would remain in effect.
