He mentioned, &#8220;If it wasn&#8217;t for their crackdown on their return-to-office policy, I would still be there with bells on and a smile on my face.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In pursuit of preserving his preferred lifestyle, the employee accepted a new job, entailing a $203,000 reduction in pay by surrendering unvested Amazon stocks earned during his tenure.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>He asserted, &#8220;Even that huge cut was worth it, rather than being forced to move across the country and abandon my dream life to keep my job.&#8221; However, the employee opted to remain anonymous.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>An Amazon spokesperson responded, stating, &#8220;We could not verify the employee&#8217;s account.&#8221; The company further clarified its position, emphasizing that they had communicated their intention to have employees return to the office three or more days per week starting in May.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This move, Amazon argued, was aimed at yielding better long-term results for their customers, business, and corporate culture.
