Telangana Government Implements Key Reforms in Power Companies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hyderabad December 14<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The era of retired officials in Telangana’s power companies has officially ended as the state government has issued orders appointing IAS officers to crucial positions in Transco, Genco, TSSPDCL, and TSNPDCL. This marks a significant shift from the trend of appointing retired officers that had persisted for the last decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decision to bring in IAS officers follows the mounting debt crisis of over Rs. 81 thousand crores during the previous government’s tenure. The new government has taken charge, initiating reforms to address the financial challenges and operational inefficiencies in the power sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recent resignations of key figures, including CMD of Transco and Genco, Devulapalli Prabhakar Rao, and Northern DISCOM CMD Annamaneni Gopal Rao, indicated a need for systemic changes. The government swiftly replaced retired officers in crucial roles, including Southern DISCOM CMD Raghumareddy and Transco JMD Srinivas Rao.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a strategic move to reform the ailing electricity companies, the state government appointed IAS officers to pivotal positions. Syed Ali Murtuza Rizvi assumed the role of Energy Secretary and was concurrently assigned the responsibilities of CMD for TS Genco and Transco. Additionally, Sandeep Kumar Jha was appointed as JMD of Transco, while Mushraf Ali Farooqui took on the role of CMD for Southern DISCOM (TSSPDCL). Karnati Varun Reddy was appointed as CMD for Northern DISCOM (TSNPDCL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This administrative overhaul aims to bring about positive changes in the operational efficiency, financial management, and overall performance of Telangana’s electricity companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Telangana Government Appoints Key IAS Officer for Energy Departments<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an official order, the General Administration (SPL-A) Department of the Telangana government issued a notification for the transfers and postings of several Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. The changes are made in the interest of administration, and the following appointments have been approved:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
