Hyderabad, Jan 13: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy convened a crucial meeting in New Delhi with Union Industries and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, where he presented a slew of proposals aimed at fostering industrial growth in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the discussions, CM Revanth Reddy requested Union Minister Goyal’s approval for the establishment of a new industrial corridor connecting Hyderabad and Vijayawada via Miryalaguda. Additionally, he sought final clearances for the proposed Hyderabad-Nagpur industrial corridor, projecting significant economic benefits of Rs 2,300 crore for Telangana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In an effort to optimize industrial planning, CM Revanth Reddy urged the Union Minister to reconsider the previously proposed Pharma City between Hyderabad and Warangal. Instead, he proposed a new Pharma City and appealed for its endorsement by the Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chief Minister drew attention to the relocation of the National Design Centre (NID) from Hyderabad to Vijayawada post the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. He requested Union Minister Goyal to approve a new NID for Telangana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another key proposal involved the relocation of the Mega Leather Park, initially designated for Nellore district in undivided Andhra Pradesh, to Telangana. CM Revanth Reddy informed Goyal about the availability of suitable land in Karimnagar and Jangaon districts for this purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Further, CM Revanth Reddy sought approval for the Mega Textile Park in Warangal to be accorded greenfield status under the PM Mitra scheme, emphasizing the potential for increased funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Highlighting Telangana’s readiness to establish industries related to technical textiles, including bulletproof jackets, conveyor belts, and airbags, the CM appealed for the establishment of a Centre of Excellence for Technical Textiles\/Testing Centre. He emphasized the positive impact on industrial development and urged Goyal to consider the proposal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, CM Revanth Reddy requested the allocation of a National Handloom Technology Centre (IIHT) to Telangana. He emphasized the center’s role in modernizing handloom technology and uplifting weavers’ income levels, particularly with seven handloom clusters already established in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting, attended by Union Industries Department Joint Secretary Balaji, Union Textiles Department Additional Secretary Rohit Kansal, State Textiles and Handlooms Department Director Alugu Varshini, TSIIC CEO Madhusudan, Delhi Telangana Bhavan OSD Sanjay Jaju, Resident Commissioner Gaurav Uppal, and others, marked a significant step towards advancing Telangana’s industrial agenda.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
