During the meeting, the delegation, comprising MLAs Vaketi Srihari Mudiraj, Chittem Parnika Reddy, Yennam Srinivas Reddy, G Madhusudan Reddy, and ex-MLA Challa Vamshi Chand Reddy, pressed for the consideration of the Narayanpet-Kodangal Lift Irrigation Scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The proposed scheme aims to provide irrigation facilities to the drought-prone areas of Kodangal, Narayanpet, and Makthal assembly constituencies. Referring to a previous government order, the delegation highlighted the administrative approval granted in 2014, estimating the project&#8217;s cost at Rs 1,450 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The irrigation scheme is designed to irrigate an ayacut of 1 lakh acres in Narayanpet and Kodangal constituencies, including providing drinking water to enroute villages. The delegation noted that despite administrative approval and an initial release of Rs 133.86 Crores, the project faced delays and neglect under the previous government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/vglobenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/uttam-kumar-reddy5821063083849249806.jpg?resize=300%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14063\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/vglobenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/uttam-kumar-reddy5821063083849249806.jpg?resize=300%2C300&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/vglobenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/uttam-kumar-reddy5821063083849249806.jpg?resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/vglobenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/uttam-kumar-reddy5821063083849249806.jpg?w=400&amp;ssl=1 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy assured the delegation that the State Government would seriously consider the proposed scheme, criticizing the previous government for neglecting irrigation and drinking water needs in Telangana. He pledged to discuss the matter with top officials and emphasized the government&#8217;s commitment to addressing pending projects and concerns raised by Mahabubnagar leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the delegation requested Rs 9 crore for Sangambanda and the completion of pending works for Koyal Sagar. The Release &amp; Rehabilitation package of Sangambanda is pending due to non-clearance of compensation for acquired lands, affecting water supply to several villages.
