Elon Musk has announced that the inaugural recipient of a brain chip implant from his brain-computer interface firm Neuralink has seemingly made a complete recovery, demonstrating the ability to manipulate a computer mouse through thought alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During a Spaces event on X, Musk expressed satisfaction with the progress, stating, “Progress is good, and the patient seems to have made a full recovery, with neural effects that we are aware of. The patient is able to move a mouse around the screen by just thinking.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, Musk disclosed that Neuralink is presently focused on maximizing the number of mouse button clicks achievable through the patient’s thoughts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following regulatory approval for human trial recruitment in September of the preceding year, Neuralink successfully performed its inaugural chip implantation procedure on a human subject last month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Musk revealed that the company’s maiden offering, dubbed Telepathy, aims to enable control of electronic devices such as phones or computers through mere thought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In November of the prior year, Neuralink augmented its financial standing by securing an extra $43 million in venture capital, as per documentation filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
