Varanasi, Feb 23: Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the 647th birth anniversary of Sant Ravidas by unveiling his statue in Varanasi and paying floral tributes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During his address, the Prime Minister emphasized Sant Ravidas’ message of unity and inclusivity, stating that the saint transcended caste barriers and advocated for societal harmony. He affirmed his government’s commitment to Sant Ravidas’ principles, encapsulated in the motto of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, Sabka Vishwas.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Highlighting the government’s pro-poor initiatives such as free toilets, ration, medical treatment, and access to clean water and gas cylinders, PM Modi underscored their aim to uplift the weakest and most marginalized sections of society, irrespective of caste or creed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taking a swipe at the opposition, the Prime Minister accused them of obstructing progress for personal gain and perpetuating divisiveness. He recalled the opposition’s resistance when an Adivasi was nominated for the presidency, contrasting it with Sant Ravidas’ vision of societal liberation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Accompanied by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, PM Modi performed rituals and paid respects at the Sant Guru Ravidas Janmasthali, marking his third visit to the temple as Prime Minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, he laid the foundation stone for the Sant Ravidas Museum and park beautification project, valued at approximately Rs 62 crore.
