Adilabad, Telangana, March 4: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy extended an olive branch to the Centre on Monday, emphasizing cooperation over confrontation and referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as an “elder brother.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the launch of development projects in Adilabad, Reddy expressed the state government’s desire for collaboration with the Centre for the advancement of Telangana’s development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting the importance of harmony between the Centre and states, Reddy stressed that political differences should not impede progress, asserting that elected representatives must prioritize the welfare of the people beyond electoral politics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a departure from his predecessor’s approach, Reddy warmly welcomed PM Modi to Adilabad, marking a shift in protocol. This marked PM Modi’s inaugural visit to Telangana since the Congress assumed power in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reddy underscored his government’s respect for constitutional offices, equating the Prime Minister to an elder sibling and emphasizing the pivotal role of central support in fostering state development, drawing parallels to Gujarat’s progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expressing gratitude for previous cooperation, Reddy cited instances of collaboration, such as the transfer of defence lands in Hyderabad for infrastructure projects. He sought the Centre’s assistance for various initiatives, including the expansion of the Metro Rail, Musi riverfront development, and the establishment of a semiconductor industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Acknowledging the inauguration of NTPC’s 800 MW unit of the Telangana Super Thermal Power Project in Peddapalli, Reddy lamented the shortfall in power generation compared to commitments made during Andhra Pradesh’s bifurcation. He pledged the state government’s cooperation in facilitating the completion of the remaining 2,400 MW of power generation capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
