Hyderabad, March 11: Fulfilling yet another electoral pledge made by the Congress ahead of the state Assembly elections, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy officially inaugurated the ‘Indiramma Indlu’ housing scheme today. This initiative aims to provide housing assistance to the underprivileged population of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the ambit of this scheme, the government will allocate house sites in the names of women, coupled with financial aid amounting to Rs 5 lakh for the construction of houses. A staggering 4.50 lakh Indiramma houses have been sanctioned by the government, with an allocated budget of Rs 22,500 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chief Minister, while launching the scheme in Bhadrachalam, located in Bhadradri Kothagudem district, articulated that the core objective of ‘Indiramma Indlu’ is to realize the long-held aspiration of economically disadvantaged families to own their own homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Revanth Reddy took the opportunity to critique his predecessor, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, alleging that the previous administration had exploited the promise of double-bedroom houses as an electoral ploy, only to disappoint the populace over the past decade. He proclaimed the advent of an ‘Indiramma Rajyam’, symbolizing a shift in governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Highlighting the sentimental attachment between the Congress and the undivided Khammam district, the Chief Minister underscored the significance of launching the Indiramma housing scheme from this locale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moreover, Revanth Reddy reiterated the commitment of the Congress to its electoral promises, citing the provision of cooking gas cylinders at subsidized rates, along with 200 units of free electricity per month. Additionally, the government is executing the Mahalakshmi scheme, which facilitates free travel for women on TSRTC buses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the Indiramma housing initiative, eligible beneficiaries will receive Rs 5 lakh in financial aid to construct houses on their allotted plots, with an assurance that all deserving individuals will be catered to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Issuing a challenge to KCR, Revanth Reddy invited the incumbent to campaign in villages where double-bedroom houses were pledged, while the Congress would seek support in areas where Indiramma houses are being constructed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Further, Revanth Reddy urged the BJP to disclose details regarding the allocation of houses to the impoverished populace in Telangana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chief Minister, who earlier paid obeisance at the Sitaramachandra Swamy temple, affirmed his administration’s comprehensive developmental plans for Bhadrachalam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka echoed similar sentiments, accusing KCR of reneging on a promised allocation of Rs 100 crore to the Bhadrachalam temple.
