Pharmaceutical giant Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd. announced on Tuesday the introduction of its cancer-fighting medication, Versavo (bevacizumab), into the UK market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Versavo marks the company’s inaugural biosimilar product to receive approval and launch in the UK. This biosimilar, akin to Avastin, is designated for treating various cancer types, including metastatic colorectal cancer, advanced non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer, recurrent glioblastoma, metastatic renal cell carcinoma, advanced cervical cancer, ovarian cancer, and metastatic breast cancer, as outlined by the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Available in single-use vials, Versavo comes in strengths of 100mg and 400mg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The initial launch of Versavo occurred in India back in 2019, with subsequent introductions into other global markets such as Thailand, Ukraine, Nepal, and Jamaica, all under the same brand name. Notably, in Colombia, the product was introduced under the brand name Persivia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
