New Delhi<\/strong> \u2014 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday reaffirmed India’s commitment to deepening the India-US strategic partnership during his third term, in a meeting with visiting US National Security Advisor (NSA) Jake Sullivan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Met US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan. India is committed to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership for global good,” Prime Minister Modi posted on X, following their meeting on Monday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), NSA Sullivan briefed PM Modi on the progress in various areas of bilateral cooperation, particularly under the Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET). Key areas of focus included semiconductors, Artificial Intelligence, telecom, defense, critical minerals, and space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“PM expressed satisfaction at the speed and scale of the growing bilateral partnership in all areas and the convergence of views on regional and global issues of mutual interest,” the PMO statement read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sullivan’s visit to India comes shortly after PM Modi’s interaction with US President Joe Biden following the G7 Summit’s Outreach Session in Borgo Egnazia, Italy. The Prime Minister highlighted his “recent positive interaction” with President Biden and reaffirmed his commitment to further elevate the Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, Sullivan met with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar before participating in the annual review meeting of the iCET alongside India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Delighted to welcome US NSA Jake Sullivan in New Delhi today morning. A comprehensive discussion on a broad range of bilateral, regional, and global issues. Confident that India-US strategic partnership will continue to advance strongly in our new term,” EAM Jaishankar posted on X after the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sullivan’s visit follows his attendance at the Peace Summit on Ukraine hosted by Switzerland over the weekend, which India also attended but did not endorse any resulting communique or document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This visit marks a continuation of Sullivan’s engagement with Indian leaders, echoing his visit to Delhi around the same time last year. During that visit, he met with PM Modi, EAM Jaishankar, and NSA Doval to advance the India-US iCET partnership, coinciding with Prime Minister Modi’s landmark visit to Washington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both NSAs have emphasized that the iCET initiative, launched by PM Modi and President Biden in May 2022, will play a crucial role in strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
