Prashant Kishor, the chief strategist behind the Jan Suraaj campaign, has forecasted a grim future for the Janata Dal (United) in the upcoming 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. During a media interaction in Jamui district on Tuesday, Kishor asserted that JD(U), under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, would struggle to secure even 20 seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“In 2015, the Grand Alliance government in Bihar was only formed because I supported Nitish Kumar. However, the 2020 Assembly elections saw a sharp decline in JD(U)\u2019s fortunes, with the party securing just 43 seats. The 2025 elections will result in an even more drastic outcome, and the JD(U) will be uprooted from Bihar politics along with the RJD,” Kishor stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kishor’s remarks came in response to a statement from JD(U) state president Umesh Kushwaha, who had dismissed Kishor’s relevance in Bihar’s political scene, labeling him as someone merely “running an agency” rather than a political leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a sharp retort, Kishor criticized the current political leadership in Bihar, claiming that the people of the state would eventually reject the leadership of Lalu Prasad Yadav, Nitish Kumar, and the BJP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kishor also took a swipe at the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), noting that the party’s leaders have been issuing letters urging members not to leave. He suggested that this indicates a lack of inspiration in the current leadership of Tejashwi Yadav, with party members only remaining due to the legacy of Lalu Prasad Yadav.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The 2025 elections will primarily be contested between Jan Suraaj and the NDA,” Kishor added, dismissing the RJD as a significant player in the upcoming polls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
