N. Vadivelu has approached the Madras High Court, seeking a compensation of Rs 5 crore from fellow actor K. R. Singamuthu over defamatory statements made against him in interviews on various YouTube channels this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Justice R. M. T. Teekaa Raman of the Madras High Court accepted the application filed by Vadivelu, along with the suit, and issued a notice to the defendant, returnable within two weeks. The notice pertains to another application filed by Vadivelu seeking an interim injunction to prevent Singamuthu from making further defamatory remarks about his personal and professional life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vadivelu, in his petition, stated that he has been a prominent figure in Tamil cinema since 1991, with over 300 films to his credit. He emphasized that he has carved out a unique space for himself as one of the most beloved comedians in the industry, with his memes continuing to enjoy popularity on social media platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He further mentioned that he had collaborated with Singamuthu in numerous films since 2000, with their on-screen partnership becoming highly successful. However, their relationship took a downturn in 2015, and since then, Vadivelu alleged, Singamuthu has been making derogatory personal comments against him in public forums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vadivelu&#8217;s plea to the court includes a request for a permanent injunction to restrain Singamuthu from continuing what he describes as a &#8220;character assassination&#8221; by making further comments about his personal and professional life.
