Telangana Prepares for Summer Power Demand: Energy Secretary Reviews Action Plan<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hyderabad, January 7, 2025<\/strong>        The Principal Secretary for Energy, Government of Telangana, and Chairman & Managing Director of TSGENCO, Sandeep Kumar Sultania, IAS, conducted a comprehensive review of the Summer Action Plan for Telangana\u2019s power utilities. The meeting, held at Vidyut Soudha, focused on measures to meet the anticipated surge in electricity demand during the upcoming summer season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expressing satisfaction with the current power supply during the ongoing Rabi crop season, Sandeep Kumar Sultania directed field engineers from TSGENCO, TSTRANSCO, TSSPDCL, and TSNPDCL to ensure uninterrupted and reliable power supply. He emphasized reducing 33KV and 11KV interruptions and called for swift action by the Centralized Breakdown (CBD) teams to resolve feeder breakdowns promptly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Director of Transmission highlighted that augmentation works for 400KV, 220KV, and 132KV substations are progressing on schedule and will be completed before summer. Associated Extra High Voltage (EHT) lines are also being prioritized to support the growing demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To address the increasing electricity requirements in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area, officials from TSSPDCL and TSNPDCL presented a detailed action plan. They analyzed previous challenges and proposed solutions to prevent issues during the summer season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sandeep Kumar Sultania also reviewed the stock position of critical equipment. He suggested establishing two additional material stores in the state, apart from the central store in Hyderabad, to expedite equipment mobilization and reduce transportation costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The review meeting was attended by D. Krishna Bhaskar, CMD of TSTRANSCO; Musharraf Ali Faruqui, CMD of TSSPDCL; K. Varun Reddy, CMD of TSNPDCL; C. Srinivasa Rao, JMD of TSTRANSCO; and other senior officials and engineers from TSGENCO, TSTRANSCO, and DISCOMs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
