Journalists\u2019 Issues to Be Taken Up with CM, Assures Minister Konda Surekha<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hyderabad, February 25:<\/em>
Forest and Endowments Minister Konda Surekha<\/strong> has assured that she will bring the issues faced by journalists across Telangana to the attention of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy<\/strong> and work towards their resolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Tuesday, leaders of the Hyderabad Union of Journalists (HUJ-TWJF)<\/strong> met Minister Konda Surekha at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat<\/strong> and presented her with the HUJ 2025 Media Diary<\/strong>. During the meeting, HUJ President Arun Kumar<\/strong> and Secretary Jagadishwar<\/strong> highlighted key concerns of journalists and urged the government to provide health insurance benefits for them and their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The journalists demanded that the new health cards issued to government employees be extended to accredited journalists as well<\/strong>. Alternatively, they suggested that every journalist be given a health insurance policy worth \u20b910 lakh per year<\/strong>. They also proposed a journalist life insurance scheme<\/strong> similar to Rythu Bima<\/strong>, ensuring financial security of \u20b95 lakh to \u20b910 lakh<\/strong> for families in case of a journalist\u2019s untimely demise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Responding positively, Minister Konda Surekha<\/strong> assured the delegation that she would write a special letter to CM Revanth Reddy<\/strong> advocating for journalists’ welfare. She also stated that she would discuss the matter with Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy<\/strong>, who is also the minister in charge of Warangal. Regarding housing and plot allotments for journalists<\/strong>, she said the government would move forward based on the CM’s decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this occasion, HUJ executive members and senior women journalists, including Kanchi Lalitha and Peddireddy Vijaya, honored Minister Konda Surekha with a shawl<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
