Born in <strong>Dasi Reddy Gudem<\/strong> village in <strong>Yadadri district<\/strong>, he hailed from the <strong>Kuruma<\/strong> (shepherd) community. His life journey\u2014from a committed Maoist leader to a political participant in the Telangana movement\u2014reflects the complex tapestry of regional politics and insurgency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/vglobenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/27-samba1207839622684434992.jpg?resize=200%2C150&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22584\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Early Life and Rise in Maoist Ranks<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Born into a <strong>Kuruma shepherd family<\/strong>, Sambashivudu became deeply involved in the Maoist insurgency in Andhra Pradesh. He initially served as the commander of the <strong>Alair and Kangal dalams (armed squads)<\/strong> and later operated in the Mahabubnagar region. His strategic acumen and leadership skills led to his appointment as the <strong>State Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Maoist)<\/strong> in 2006, following the death of his predecessor, Madhav, in a police encounter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During his tenure with the Maoists, Sambashivudu was implicated in numerous high-profile incidents, including assassination attempts on former Chief Ministers <strong>N. Chandrababu Naidu (2003)<\/strong> and <strong>N. Janardhana Reddy (2007)<\/strong>. He was also allegedly involved in the killings of political figures such as <strong>Congress MLAs Ragya Naik and Ch. Following his surrender, he was granted the \u20b910 lakh reward that had been placed on his head, and the majority of the approximately 80 cases against him were withdrawn, leaving only five pending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Embracing mainstream politics, Sambashivudu joined the <strong>Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS)<\/strong> in 2010, aligning himself with the movement for a separate Telangana state. His dedication to the cause earned him a position in the party&#8217;s politburo, reflecting his influence and commitment to regional aspirations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Assassination and Legacy<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>On <strong>March 26, 2011<\/strong>, Sambashivudu was brutally murdered in <strong>Nalgonda district<\/strong> by unidentified assailants wielding sickles and swords. Investigations suggested that his assassination was linked to <strong>factional rivalries and land disputes<\/strong>, with suspicions pointing towards former associates within the Maoist movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the years following his death, Sambashivudu has been commemorated for his contributions to the Telangana movement.
