Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao have strongly criticized the Telangana government for allegedly defying court orders and destroying the environment by bulldozing trees on 400 acres of land at Kancha Gachibowli, adjacent to the University of Hyderabad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rama Rao termed the act as \u2018green murder\u2019 and urged senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to intervene in the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
BJP leader Bandi Sanjay Kumar claimed that the land is under litigation, and the High Court had directed the state government to file a counter by April 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taking to social media platform X, Bandi Sanjay accused the Congress government of opportunism, saying, “400 acres planned for auction by the State govt fall under forest limits. Supreme Court clearly bars deforestation without Centre\u2019s consent. The land is under HC litigation; Court ordered the govt to file a counter by April 7. Yet, the govt is defying the Court, bulldozing trees, and destroying the environment.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The BJP leader further alleged that the Congress government is worse than the previous BRS administration, as it is engaging in illegal deforestation and auctioning land for financial gain. \u201cDidn\u2019t the Chief Minister himself once oppose such land sales? Future City for the rich, lathis for the future generations \u2014 is this the Congress model?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Demanding an immediate rollback of the auction decision, Bandi Sanjay Kumar warned that the government would face strong opposition from the people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, K.T. Rama Rao shared images and videos of trees being bulldozed in the 400-acre area, condemning the Congress government\u2019s actions. “This is brazen green murder by destroying 400 acres of precious lung space in western Hyderabad. You can hear the peacocks crying for help as the bulldozers and JCBs of the Congress Govt rummage,” he posted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Challenging Rahul Gandhi, he wrote, “If you don\u2019t speak up now, it\u2019s on you Mr Rahul Gandhi.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
