The posts have remained vacant for over a year and are currently being managed by in-charge directors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There has been an overwhelming response to the notification, with over 160 applications received for the eight posts, averaging 20 applicants per post. According to officials, the posts have attracted high interest, with current chief engineers, chief general managers, and even some present directors vying for the top roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sources reveal that several aspirants have reached out to political leaders, including ministers, MLAs, and even central leaders in Delhi, in an attempt to secure the coveted positions. Since then, the government has continued with interim arrangements for these posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Though the notification for the director posts was issued in late January and early February 2024, the selection process was delayed due to heavy lobbying and political pressure.
