Telangana Horticultural University Signs MoU with Kansas State University to Boost Global Collaboration and Research<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hyderabad | June 18, 2025:<\/strong>
In a major step toward international academic and research collaboration, Sri Konda Laxman Telangana Horticultural University<\/strong> (SKLTHU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)<\/strong> with Kansas State University, USA<\/strong>, to enhance skill development, student exchange, and joint research in horticulture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agreement was signed by Dr. Danda Rajireddy<\/strong>, Vice Chancellor of SKLTHU, and Dr. P.V. Varaprasad<\/strong>, Director of the Center for Climate, Crops, and Communities at Kansas State University. The MoU paves the way for collaborative efforts aimed at enriching the knowledge and skills of horticultural students in Telangana, while also advancing field-level innovations beneficial to the farming community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Rajireddy said the MoU marks a milestone in raising international standards in horticultural education and research in Telangana. He highlighted that Kansas State University is globally renowned for its expertise in post-harvest technology, value addition, sustainable horticulture, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and food safety<\/strong>. He expressed confidence that the collaboration would lead to significant benefits for both students and farmers in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Varaprasad emphasized the importance of applying advanced technologies such as CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing<\/strong>, especially in horticultural crops like vegetables and fruits, for improved food safety, biosafety, and productivity. He reiterated Kansas State University’s commitment to driving cutting-edge agricultural research with global impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
