The project is a key component of the ambitious \u201cVision-2047\u201d national highway master plan aimed at transforming India\u2019s road network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has appointed a consultancy firm through a tendering process to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Hyderabad\u2013Bengaluru segment. Together, these two segments \u2014 Nagpur\u2013Hyderabad and Hyderabad\u2013Bengaluru \u2014 form a continuous high-speed corridor traversing four states. The DPR preparation for the Nagpur\u2013Hyderabad section has been allocated \u20b914.99 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new corridor will span approximately 1,150 km, cutting across Nagpur (Maharashtra), Hyderabad (Telangana), Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. The breakdown of the corridor\u2019s route is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Telangana: 195 km<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Andhra Pradesh: 260 km<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Karnataka: 106 km<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>With an estimated total cost of \u20b935,000 crore, the highway is designed to support travel speeds exceeding 120 km\/h. Initially, the road will be built as a 6-lane expressway with future provision for expansion to 8 or even 12 lanes. Land acquisition will be carried out keeping in mind the potential for 12-lane widening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, the Hyderabad\u2013Bengaluru stretch operates as a 4-lane highway, allowing average speeds of 80 km\/h. However, frequent congestion, geometric deficiencies, and sharp curves have made large-scale upgrades to the existing road unfeasible.
