Hyderabad, August 12, 2025<\/em>: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has issued a red alert<\/strong> warning of extremely heavy rainfall<\/strong> across Hyderabad from Wednesday, August 13, to Friday, August 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the advisory, northern parts of the city<\/strong>, including Medchal\u2013Malkajgiri district<\/strong> and the Cyberabad region<\/strong>, are expected to face the worst impact<\/strong>, with rainfall accumulation projected between 10\u201315 cm<\/strong>, and in isolated pockets, possibly touching 20 cm<\/strong>. Other parts of the city are also expected to receive widespread heavy downpours<\/strong>, raising the risk of flooding and severe waterlogging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HYDRAA Commissioner has urged residents to remain indoors<\/strong>, avoid unnecessary travel<\/strong>, and take maximum precautions<\/strong> during the three-day weather event. People living in low-lying and flood-prone areas<\/strong> have been advised to move to safer locations<\/strong> or be prepared for possible evacuation<\/strong> if the situation worsens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)<\/strong> has confirmed HYDRAA\u2019s prediction, attributing the heavy rains to a low-pressure system forming over the Bay of Bengal<\/strong>, which is expected to intensify into a well-marked system. The IMD has warned of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
