This marks an increase of 1,181 farmers compared to last year, making it the highest coverage in the state\u2019s history, according to agriculture department Officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nalgonda Leads in Beneficiaries<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Nalgonda district secured the top spot in the state for the number of farmers covered under the insurance scheme, with 2,98,037 farmers enrolled. Of these, 12,212 are new beneficiaries, while 2,85,825 farmers had their insurance renewed. Sangareddy district followed with 2,12,335 farmers, and Khammam district ranked third with 2,04,951 farmers. Kamareddy district insured 1,98,241 farmers, and NagarKurnool district covered 1,90,945 farmers. Across the state, 24 districts reported over one lakh beneficiaries, while the remaining eight districts had fewer than one lakh. Farmers aged 18 to 59 who received pattadar passbooks by June 5, 2025, were eligible to apply. The agriculture department accepted applications until August 13, enrolling 1,96,890 new farmers. Additionally, 40,19,958 existing beneficiaries had their insurance renewed, ensuring coverage until August 14, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reduced Premium Rates<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To make the scheme more accessible, the insurance premium was reduced this year from \u20b93,400 to \u20b93,225 per farmer, a reduction of \u20b9175. With each claim amounting to \u20b95 lakh, a total of over \u20b91,300 crore was disbursed as compensation to farmers\u2019 families, providing critical financial support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The state government\u2019s efforts to expand the farmer insurance scheme underscore its commitment to ensuring financial security and stability for farmers.
