This marks the tenth consecutive month that GST revenues have remained above the \u20b91.8 lakh crore mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the data, total GST revenue during April\u2013October FY26 stood at \u20b913.89 lakh crore \u2014 a 9 per cent increase compared to \u20b912.74 lakh crore collected during the same period last fiscal. After adjusting for refunds, the government\u2019s net tax collections in October stood at \u20b91.69 lakh crore, up 0.6 per cent compared to October 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/vglobenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/budget-gst-common28782860620817550514.jpg?resize=300%2C168&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25991\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/vglobenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/budget-gst-common28782860620817550514.jpg?resize=300%2C168&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/vglobenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/budget-gst-common28782860620817550514.jpg?resize=768%2C430&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/vglobenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/budget-gst-common28782860620817550514.jpg?w=770&amp;ssl=1 770w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The robust October collections reflect strong consumer demand during the festive season following the rate cuts announced on September 22 as part of broader tax and economic reforms. The government noted that the benefits of these GST reductions have been passed on to consumers, boosting spending at a crucial time for the economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Officials also expect consumption to grow by more than 10 per cent this year, translating to additional consumption worth around \u20b920 lakh crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe higher gross GST collections reflect a strong festive season, increased consumer demand, and a rate structure that has been well absorbed by businesses. During the second quarter of FY26, collections reached \u20b95.71 lakh crore, a 7.7 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, India\u2019s net direct tax revenue grew 6.33 per cent to \u20b911.89 lakh crore in the current fiscal year (up to October 12). The Income Tax Department reported gross direct tax collections of \u20b913.92 lakh crore, up from \u20b913.60 lakh crore during the same period last fiscal.
