But we must remain careful \u2014 particularly our elders \u2014 so that they don\u2019t fall prey to digital arrests and cyber frauds,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Malhotra also celebrated the rising representation of women in the banking and administrative sectors, noting that <strong>nearly half of all new RBI officers are now women<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWhen we joined the service, only about 7% of our batch were women. Today, around 33% to 50% of the new officers are women. Even at this event, half the participants are women \u2014 it\u2019s a moment of pride,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>He lauded <strong>Udaipur Divisional Commissioner Pragya Kewalramani<\/strong> and local banking officials for their leadership, saying their achievements reflect how women are advancing shoulder to shoulder with men across India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Calling <strong>Udaipur<\/strong> a city close to his heart, Malhotra reminisced about his earlier tenure in Rajasthan, where he served as <strong>Tribal Commissioner<\/strong> in June 2009 and later as <strong>Managing Director of Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Limited<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The RBI Governor highlighted India\u2019s progress in <strong>financial inclusion<\/strong>, noting that <em>\u201calmost every citizen now has a digital bank account connected to net banking, mobile banking, or ATMs.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He emphasised that the next phase of growth should focus on <strong>digital financial literacy<\/strong> and <strong>secure online transactions<\/strong> to safeguard consumers in an increasingly digital economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the outreach, the RBI also initiated the return of <strong>\u20b9101.47 crore<\/strong> lying unclaimed in <strong>2,86,243 bank accounts<\/strong> in Udaipur district to their rightful heirs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>RBI Deputy General Manager <strong>Vikas Agarwal<\/strong> said the initiative, under a nationwide drive, aims to ensure that <strong>unclaimed deposits are traced and returned to legitimate owners<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Concluding his address, Malhotra reiterated the importance of digital safety and financial awareness:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cDo your e-KYC, stay alert to cyber scams, and protect your financial rights.
