Delivering two sessions titled \u201cThe Macroeconomic Mandate of Central Banks\u201d and \u201cNavigating Dilemmas: The Future of Central Banking,\u201d Dr. Subbarao offered deep insights into the functioning, challenges, and future priorities of modern central banks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"425\" width=\"640\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/vglobenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-11-18-at-18.00.28_73c4412f-1024x680.jpg?resize=640%2C425&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26277\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Addressing students and faculty, Dr. Subbarao began by demystifying the role of the RBI, calling the central bank \u201c<em>one of the greatest inventions since the beginning of time<\/em>.\u201d He explained how central banking influences the daily lives of citizens through its core functions\u2014currency management, monetary policy formulation, exchange rate management, regulation of financial institutions and markets, oversight of payment and settlement systems, and acting as the banker to governments and commercial banks.
