Massive PDS Rice Diversion Racket Busted in Palvancha: 15 Accused, \u20b917.22 Lakh Government Loss<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hyderabad, December 12:<\/strong>
A major racket involving the large-scale diversion of Public Distribution System (PDS) rice was busted by the Telangana Vigilance Task Force at the Mandal Level Stock (MLS) Point in Palvancha, Bhadradri Kothagudem district. Officials uncovered a well-organised criminal conspiracy in which government rice worth \u20b917,22,600<\/strong> was being siphoned off into the black market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The case, registered as Cr. No. 456\/2025<\/strong> under Sections 318(4), 316(5) r\/w 61(2) BNS and Section 7 of the Essential Commodities Act<\/strong>, reveals widespread collusion among contractors, MLS staff, fair price shop dealers and a rice mill owner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GPS Device Shifted to Bike to Mislead Officials<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The operation came to light on 2 December at 4:15 PM<\/strong>, when the Vigilance Task Force, acting on credible information, intercepted a Bajaj Pulsar (AP 20 AV 1899)<\/strong> carrying fake truck chits<\/strong>. Investigators discovered that the GPS tracker meant for the lorry<\/strong> was illegally attached to the motorcycle to show a misleading vehicle movement trail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lorry, TS 29 T 5139<\/strong>, was found near Nakiripeta carrying 600 bags of PDS rice (300 quintals)<\/strong>, which were being diverted to the black market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Accused Confess; Illegal Payments Exposed<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The motorcycle rider Prasanth (A2)<\/strong>, assistant to Stage-I contractor N. Srinivas (A1)<\/strong>, confessed to the diversion plan and admitted to receiving \u20b910,000 per lorry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lorry driver-cum-owner Anil Kumar (A5)<\/strong> revealed he parked the vehicle under instructions from Narahari (A14)<\/strong>, owner of Ramya Trader Rice Mills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MLS Point Incharge Satyavathi (A3)<\/strong> admitted she was paid \u20b920,000 per lorry<\/strong>, while Data Entry Operator Krishna Kumar (A4)<\/strong> received \u20b910,000<\/strong> for facilitating the illegal dispatch. The hamali Nagaraju (A15)<\/strong> also cooperated in the operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eight fair price shop dealers\u2014A6 to A13<\/strong>\u2014confessed they were promised \u20b925 per kg<\/strong> of diverted PDS rice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fake Receipts, Manipulated Records Used to Cover Up Crime<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Officials found that falsified records, manipulated stock entries, and fake receipts were systematically created to show legitimate movement of rice stocks while the actual consignments were diverted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Repeated Offences by Contractor<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Stage-I contractor N. Srinivas (A1)<\/strong> confessed to having diverted five lorry loads earlier<\/strong>, citing substantial illegal profits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investigators also found that he operates Nalgonda Rice Industries<\/em> at Penpahad under his brother\u2019s name N. Ramesh<\/strong>, and works as a paddy contractor in Athmakur (S) Mandal, Suryapet district<\/strong>, under Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Lorry Transport<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
