Telangana Beats the Clock: 86% of Monthly Ration Distributed Ahead of Deadline<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hyderabad, April 22, 2026:<\/strong>
In a significant administrative achievement, the Civil Supplies Department of Telangana has completed 86% of its monthly rice distribution well ahead of schedule, showcasing an efficient and proactive public distribution system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to official data, the state has distributed 5,48,140 metric tonnes (MT)<\/strong> of rice out of the total allocated 6,43,303 MT<\/strong> for April 2026 as of April 21. This remarkable progress has been achieved with eight days still remaining before the April 30 deadline<\/strong>, reflecting streamlined logistics and strong coordination across districts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The accelerated distribution drive was undertaken following a directive issued on March 2 by the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution. The Centre had advised all states to advance the lifting and distribution of food grains for the April\u2013June 2026 quarter<\/strong> to avoid storage congestion and logistical challenges during the peak procurement season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials stated that Telangana responded swiftly to the directive by mobilizing its supply chain network, ensuring uninterrupted transportation and timely delivery of food grains to Fair Price (FP) Shops across the state. As a result, the initiative has already recorded over 2.62 crore successful beneficiary transactions<\/strong>, indicating extensive outreach and effective last-mile delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To ensure transparency and accountability in this large-scale operation, the government has implemented a robust digital monitoring system. All transactions and beneficiary authentications are being processed through electronic Point of Sale (ePoS) devices at FP Shops, enabling real-time tracking and minimizing discrepancies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senior officials from the Civil Supplies Department noted that the early completion of distribution not only reduces pressure on storage infrastructure but also ensures that beneficiaries receive their entitlements without delay. The move is also expected to facilitate smoother procurement operations in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
