Revanth Reddy Says BRS Has \u2018No Future\u2019, Predicts Political Realignment in Telangana

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday asserted that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) \u201chas a past but no future,\u201d predicting that the party will not survive in the long run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking informally with mediapersons at the Assembly premises, he said the party led by former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) is no longer viable. In a sharp remark, he compared the BRS to a \u201cdead body,\u201d stating that \u201cno matter how much make-up is done, it will not rise.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Responding to queries about a new political outfit launched by KCR\u2019s daughter K. Kavitha, the Chief Minister said there was no need to focus on it at present. \u201cLet us first see whether the existing party survives,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Revanth Reddy alleged that KCR\u2019s family members are united and suggested that any perceived differences are merely an attempt to mislead the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also predicted a political realignment in Telangana, stating that two major alliances are likely to emerge. According to him, the Congress, Left parties, and M. Kodandaram of the Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) may form one alliance, while the BRS and the BJP could come together on the other side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Kodandaram, along with Minority Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin, took oath as members of the Telangana Legislative Council on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chief Minister maintained that his government does not discriminate and claimed that it effectively faces no opposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also dismissed speculation that he wished ill health upon KCR, stating that the former Chief Minister\u2019s well-being is beneficial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Referring to remarks by Kavitha that KCR is no longer the same leader who launched the Telangana movement, Revanth Reddy said people had tolerated his statements during the agitation, but he continued in a similar tone during his decade-long rule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the recent Telangana High Court judgment regarding the report of the P. C. Ghose Commission on alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project, he said the court had not found fault with the report but had advised against taking action solely based on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that further action would be taken only after an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
