Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy made a series of politically significant remarks at the Way2News Conclave held in Hyderabad on Friday, asserting that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi would be projected as the Prime Ministerial candidate of the INDIA alliance in the next Lok Sabha elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing the conclave, the Chief Minister stated that Rahul Gandhi possesses a clear ideological vision and commitment to restoring the Congress party to power at the national level. Revanth Reddy revealed that during a recent meeting in Vikarabad, he personally convinced Rahul Gandhi to accept the demand from party cadres and leaders to emerge as the face of the opposition alliance for the Prime Minister\u2019s post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said the Congress party would first formally announce Rahul Gandhi as its Prime Ministerial candidate and subsequently persuade INDIA bloc partners to endorse him unanimously. According to the Chief Minister, the alliance would go before the people with a comprehensive national policy document and seek a mandate based on governance, social justice and economic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revanth Reddy also made it clear that he was prepared to shoulder any responsibility assigned by the Congress high command at the national level. \u201cMy primary objective is to see Rahul Gandhi become the next Prime Minister of India,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSwiggy-style Politics\u201d Changing Public Expectations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Minister expressed concern over the rapidly changing public perception of politics and governance. He remarked that people today expect \u201cSwiggy-style politics,\u201d seeking instant delivery of welfare and governance directly to their doorstep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reflecting on his political journey, Revanth Reddy said he had always maintained political decorum and cordial relations despite party differences. He recalled serving the Telugu Desam Party for nearly a decade and said N. Chandrababu Naidu still treated him with respect even after his exit from the party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CM stated that his government\u2019s long-term vision was to ensure Telangana contributes 10 percent to the country\u2019s GDP and emerges as India\u2019s leading state in economic growth and infrastructure development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharp Attack on Bandi Sanjay Over POCSO Case<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Minister launched a scathing attack on Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar over the ongoing POCSO case involving his son.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Explaining the sequence of events, Revanth Reddy said the police registered a case at Pet Basheerabad Police Station on the night of May 8 based on a complaint filed by the mother of a minor girl. Investigation began on May 9, and relevant sections under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act were subsequently added after recording the victim\u2019s statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Minister clarified that the investigation process was delayed briefly due to security arrangements related to Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s visit to Telangana. He said police later served notices after revising the legal sections and deployed five teams to investigate the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revanth Reddy accused the opposition, particularly leaders from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), of unnecessarily politicising the issue. \u201cDoes filing a POCSO case amount to intimidation, or does it mean standing by the victim?\u201d he questioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He asserted that the Telangana government was committed to protecting victims irrespective of political affiliations and warned that strict action would be taken against anyone found guilty, including influential figures from politics or the film industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Demanding accountability from Bandi Sanjay, the Chief Minister said the Union Minister should cooperate with the investigation and produce his son before the police. \u201cHe must face the inquiry courageously instead of trying to evade the law,\u201d Revanth Reddy remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CM further stated that the case involved complexities, including the existence of two birth certificates related to the girl, which police were currently verifying. However, he maintained that no one would escape punishment if found guilty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revanth Recalls \u201cPolitical Vendetta\u201d During BRS Rule<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Revanth Reddy also recalled his imprisonment during the previous BRS regime and accused the former government of misusing power for political vendetta. However, he said he never resorted to personal attacks against the family members of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Minister alleged that some BRS leaders were attempting to provoke unrest over the current investigation for political gains. He stated that the government was not running \u201ca charity institution\u201d but a constitutional administration committed to justice and law enforcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Musi Rejuvenation and Encroachment Removal<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Defending the government\u2019s Musi River rejuvenation initiative, Revanth Reddy said the administration was determined to restore lakes, ponds, nalas, parks and government lands that had been encroached upon over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Minister observed that rampant illegal constructions had severely affected Hyderabad\u2019s drainage and water systems. Referring to encroachments at Thummidikunta lake, he alleged that influential individuals had built function halls and structures obstructing natural water flow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNobody who pollutes or destroys water bodies will be forgiven by nature,\u201d he warned, quoting a Japanese proverb on environmental conservation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revanth Reddy acknowledged criticism over demolition drives but defended the action as necessary to protect Hyderabad from future environmental disasters. He stated that the government was offering rehabilitation and compensation, including double-bedroom houses, to eligible families displaced due to encroachment clearances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Minister accused the BRS of provoking residents in encroached areas for political mileage while ignoring long-term environmental consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Telangana Rising 2047 and Future City Vision<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Minister elaborated on the government\u2019s ambitious \u201cTelangana Rising 2047\u201d roadmap, aimed at transforming the state into India\u2019s leading economic powerhouse over the next two decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said the proposed \u201cBharat Future City\u201d spread across nearly 30,000 acres would emerge as a major hub for IT companies, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), advanced industries and innovation ecosystems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project would also include radial road connectivity between the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR). Agro-based industries and allied sectors would be promoted in surrounding rural regions to create balanced economic growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revanth Reddy further revealed that Hyderabad had been selected for three of the seven proposed bullet train corridors sanctioned by the Union Government and said a major Bullet Train Hub would be established near Shamshabad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Calling the Future City initiative a \u201cgame changer,\u201d the Chief Minister said it would attract global investment, create large-scale employment and strengthen Telangana\u2019s position as a technology and industrial leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Welfare, Education and Transport Reforms<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting welfare measures, the Chief Minister said the government had spent nearly Rs 10,000 crore over 28 months to implement free RTC bus travel for women. He added that the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (RTC), which suffered severe losses under the previous government, was now receiving nearly Rs 350 crore every month in support from the state government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CM also announced that around 3,000 electric buses would soon operate within Hyderabad city limits, reducing diesel consumption and saving approximately Rs 2,000 crore in fuel expenditure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On education reforms, Revanth Reddy stated that around 19 lakh students were studying in 27,000 government schools, while 38 lakh students were enrolled in private institutions. He said the government was establishing 100 \u201cYoung India Integrated Schools\u201d at an estimated cost of Rs 20,000 crore to promote inclusive and quality education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The integrated campuses, he said, would provide breakfast, midday meals and evening snacks while bringing together students from all castes and communities under one educational framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strong Remarks on Governance and Public Service<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Minister emphasised that he regularly conducted district tours every 15 days to directly monitor administration and development works. He said nominated posts were being given only to leaders who had genuinely worked for the people and the party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revanth Reddy also defended his working relationship with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, clarifying that their interactions were strictly between representatives of the state and central governments aimed at securing development funds for Telangana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, he criticised the previous BRS government for allegedly failing to maintain constructive relations with the Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
