Hyderabad, June 2: Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Tuesday said that the formation of Telangana stands as a symbol of the sacrifices made by martyrs and the democratic struggles waged over several decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Participating in the Telangana State Formation Day celebrations at Lok Bhavan, the Governor unfurled the National Flag and received the Guard of Honour from the police forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Paying rich tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives during the Telangana movement, he extended his greetings to the people of Telangana and to all the sons and daughters of the state living across the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Governor called upon citizens to remember and honour all those who laid the foundations for the creation of modern Telangana. Referring to the ancient saying, “Janani Janmabhumishcha Swargadapi Gariyasi” (Mother and Motherland are greater than Heaven), he emphasised the importance of respecting and cherishing one’s homeland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Highlighting Telangana’s rich heritage, Shukla said the state’s centuries-old culture, traditions, and agrarian roots form the true lifeblood of Telangana. He praised the farming community for its contribution to the state’s growth, noting that the chain of irrigation tanks established during the Kakatiya era, along with modern irrigation projects, has helped transform Telangana into a fertile and prosperous region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Governor expressed pride in Telangana’s achievements beyond agriculture, pointing out that the state has earned international recognition in sectors such as information technology, pharmaceuticals, and startups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Inspired by the constitutional values of India and the ideal of “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah” (May all be happy), he envisioned a prosperous Telangana where rural development, urban progress, social welfare, and modernisation move forward in harmony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shukla further expressed confidence that Telangana would continue to scale new heights of development and play a significant role in India’s overall progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
