{"id":27735,"date":"2026-06-08T22:40:53","date_gmt":"2026-06-08T17:10:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vglobenews.com\/?p=27735"},"modified":"2026-06-08T22:40:55","modified_gmt":"2026-06-08T17:10:55","slug":"hydraa-reclaims-public-assets-worth-rs-1-10-lakh-crore-targets-rs-2-lakh-crore-milestone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vglobenews.com\/?p=27735","title":{"rendered":"HYDRAA Reclaims Public Assets Worth Rs 1.10 Lakh Crore, Targets Rs 2 Lakh Crore Milestone"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Hyderabad, June 8:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has announced that it has successfully reclaimed and protected public assets worth more than Rs 1.10 lakh crore in less than two years, marking what it described as a landmark achievement in safeguarding public resources across Hyderabad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement issued on Monday, HYDRAA said it has reclaimed and protected lakes, nalas, parks, government lands, and other blue-green resources that were under threat from encroachments and illegal land-grabbing activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agency stated that these valuable public assets have now been secured for future generations and expressed confidence that, with continued public support and administrative backing, it can move towards protecting assets worth Rs 2 lakh crore within the next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">HYDRAA thanked responsible citizens, public representatives, media organisations, government departments, and stakeholders who have supported its efforts to reclaim and restore public resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThank you to all the right and public-spirited people, and the media for supporting this great project for reclaiming, protecting and restoring blue-green resources that would have otherwise been lost to the land mafia,\u201d the agency said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to HYDRAA, its core mission is to reclaim, protect, and restore public assets while ensuring the long-term sustainability of Hyderabad&#8217;s ecological infrastructure. The agency noted that the preservation of lakes, waterways, parks, and government lands is essential for building a resilient and environmentally sustainable future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Established by the Telangana government in 2024, HYDRAA was tasked with protecting public assets, managing disasters, and removing encroachments across Hyderabad. Since its inception, the agency has reportedly reclaimed more than 2,000 acres of government land by clearing illegal occupations from open spaces, water bodies, nalas, and parks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agency is headed by IPS officer A.V. Ranganath and has been at the forefront of several high-profile anti-encroachment drives in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">HYDRAA&#8217;s latest announcement comes amid an ongoing political debate surrounding the agency following recent remarks by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. During an interaction at an event in Bengaluru, the Chief Minister&#8217;s comments regarding the name &#8220;HYDRAA&#8221; sparked controversy and drew criticism from opposition parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agency has also faced criticism from opposition groups over demolition drives conducted in various parts of Hyderabad. Opposition leaders have alleged that some actions disproportionately affected economically weaker sections and residents living in disputed properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, K.
