New Delhi, June 16: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the results of the Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026, with 13,343 candidates qualifying for the next stage of the country’s most prestigious recruitment process \u2014 the Civil Services Main Examination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The results were announced on Monday, June 15, and the list of qualified candidates, along with their roll numbers, has been made available on the official UPSC website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Civil Services Preliminary Examination was conducted across the country on May 24, 2026. This year, UPSC has notified 1,016 vacancies in various services, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and other central services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Compared to last year, the number of candidates qualifying for the Mains examination has slightly decreased. In 2025, a total of 14,161 candidates had cleared the Preliminary Examination against 1,087 advertised vacancies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
UPSC has informed all qualified candidates that they must mandatorily fill the Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I) through the Commission’s online portal. The application window will remain open from June 19 to June 28, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Candidates are also required to pay an examination fee of \u20b9200 while submitting the DAF-I. However, women candidates and those belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) categories have been exempted from the fee payment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Commission has clarified that the marks obtained by candidates in the Preliminary Examination, along with the cut-off marks and answer keys, will be released only after the final results of the Civil Services Examination 2026 are declared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Candidates are advised to carefully complete the DAF-I process within the stipulated timeline, as failure to do so may result in disqualification from the Main Examination stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
