The plant was jointly dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi through video conferencing during the India-Japan Joint Economic Forum held in New Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Spread across 800 acres, the integrated manufacturing complex has been developed with an adjoining supplier park and is designed to become one of the world&#8217;s largest automobile production facilities once fully operational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The plant has commenced operations with an annual production capacity of five lakh vehicles. In the next phase, the capacity will be doubled to 10 lakh vehicles per year. Maruti Suzuki plans to invest a total of \u20b935,000 crore in the project, which is expected to generate more than 21,000 employment opportunities upon completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Built on Suzuki&#8217;s advanced &#8216;Smart Factory&#8217; concept, the Kharkhoda facility incorporates Industry 5.0 technologies to enhance manufacturing efficiency, safety, quality and productivity. The plant also features sustainable technologies, including solar power generation, biogas systems, battery energy storage and green power procurement. The company said the facility&#8217;s entire electricity requirement will be met through renewable energy sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The inauguration represents another significant chapter in Maruti Suzuki&#8217;s more than four-decade journey in India while further strengthening the strategic economic partnership between India and Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At full capacity, the Kharkhoda facility will play a crucial role in Maruti Suzuki&#8217;s long-term objective of achieving an annual production capacity of four million vehicles across its manufacturing network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Describing the project as a landmark achievement for the Suzuki Group, Suzuki Motor Corporation President Toshihiro Suzuki said it was a matter of great honour that the company&#8217;s most advanced manufacturing facility had been inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said expanding the plant&#8217;s production capacity from five lakh to 10 lakh vehicles annually would make it one of the largest automobile manufacturing facilities in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Toshihiro Suzuki said the project reflects the success of the India-Japan partnership and the &#8216;Make in India&#8217; initiative.
