{"id":28270,"date":"2026-07-17T21:51:29","date_gmt":"2026-07-17T16:21:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vglobenews.com\/?p=28270"},"modified":"2026-07-17T21:51:30","modified_gmt":"2026-07-17T16:21:30","slug":"sensex-surges-965-points-nifty-tops-24300-as-banking-and-it-stocks-lead-market-rally","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vglobenews.com\/?p=28270","title":{"rendered":"Sensex Surges 965 Points, Nifty Tops 24,300 as Banking and IT Stocks Lead Market Rally"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mumbai, July 17:<\/strong> Indian equity benchmark indices ended the week on a strong note on Friday, with the Sensex soaring nearly 1,000 points and the Nifty closing comfortably above the 24,300 mark, driven by robust buying in private banking, information technology and automobile stocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>BSE Sensex<\/strong> rallied <strong>964.58 points<\/strong>, or <strong>1.25 per cent<\/strong>, to settle at <strong>78,151.45<\/strong>, while the <strong>NSE Nifty<\/strong> gained <strong>261.55 points<\/strong>, or <strong>1.09 per cent<\/strong>, to close at <strong>24,334.30<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Market analysts said the rally was fueled by strong investor interest in large-cap stocks, particularly in the banking and IT sectors, amid optimism surrounding first-quarter earnings and positive business updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nifty Faces Key Resistance at 24,400<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to technical analysts, the <strong>24,400 level<\/strong> remains the immediate resistance for the Nifty, coinciding with the <strong>200-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA)<\/strong>, making it a crucial level for the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Experts believe a sustained breakout above this level could strengthen bullish momentum and open the door for a move towards the <strong>24,500\u201324,600<\/strong> range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the downside, the <strong>24,200 level<\/strong> is expected to serve as immediate support after successfully transitioning from a key resistance zone. Analysts also identified the <strong>24,000 psychological mark<\/strong> as a critical support level that could help preserve the market&#8217;s broader recovery trend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Banking, IT and Auto Stocks Shine<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among sectoral indices, the <strong>Nifty Private Bank Index<\/strong> emerged as the top performer, advancing <strong>2.12 per cent<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Nifty IT Index<\/strong> climbed <strong>1.75 per cent<\/strong>, supported by renewed buying in technology stocks, while the <strong>Nifty Realty Index<\/strong> rose <strong>1.34 per cent<\/strong> and the <strong>Nifty Auto Index<\/strong> gained <strong>1.24 per cent<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, healthcare-related counters remained under pressure throughout the session.
