CJP has announced a <strong>Jail Bharo Andolan<\/strong> in Mumbai as part of its agitation against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Recent reports said the group had faced difficulties in obtaining permission for its October 2 demonstration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dipke has demanded the resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar, alleging irregularities in electoral rolls and accusing the Election Commission of India of failing to ensure transparency in the electoral process. These are allegations made by Dipke and his organisation and have not been established as facts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also called for the Election Commission to freeze the recently prepared Special Intensive Revision (SIR) electoral rolls and urged that elections be conducted using the 2005 voter lists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the question of police permission for protests, Dipke argued that democratic demonstrations should not depend on prior approval. He invoked Mahatma Gandhi&#8217;s freedom movement while asserting that CJP would proceed with its protest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dipke also criticised Fadnavis&#8217; reported remarks regarding protesters being jailed before obtaining bail. He said he was prepared to remain in custody for a longer period and return to the streets after his release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The CJP founder further questioned restrictions on protest venues, asking why political rallies could be held at Shivaji Park while his organisation faced restrictions on holding demonstrations at the same location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CJP to Join Wider Opposition Protest<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dipke said CJP would support the opposition&#8217;s October 4 agitation and that its members would participate in a broader campaign against the Election Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The development comes amid a wider political confrontation over electoral-roll revisions and the functioning of the Election Commission.
