{"id":28768,"date":"2026-10-05T21:55:20","date_gmt":"2026-10-05T16:25:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vglobenews.com\/?p=28768"},"modified":"2026-10-05T21:55:43","modified_gmt":"2026-10-05T16:25:43","slug":"telangana-seeks-centres-approval-for-key-infrastructure-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vglobenews.com\/?p=28768","title":{"rendered":"Telangana Seeks Centre\u2019s Approval for Key Infrastructure Projects"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Hyderabad:<\/strong> Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister <strong>Komatireddy Venkat Reddy<\/strong> has urged Union Road Transport and Highways Minister <strong>Nitin Gadkari<\/strong> to expedite approvals, funding and implementation of several major infrastructure projects aimed at improving connectivity, easing traffic congestion and boosting regional economic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Venkat Reddy met Gadkari after the inauguration of <strong>Chintan Shivir-2026<\/strong>, a two-day national conclave on highway infrastructure held at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat\u2019s Narmada district. The two ministers discussed several Telangana projects awaiting Central approvals and financial sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6-km Double-Decker Corridor for Hyderabad<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To address growing traffic congestion in eastern Hyderabad, Venkat Reddy proposed a <strong>6-km double-decker elevated corridor between LB Nagar and Hayathnagar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Centre has already approved <strong>\u20b9545 crore<\/strong> for developing the LB Nagar\u2013Malkapur stretch of NH-65 into a six-lane highway with service roads. The minister requested that the elevated corridor be included in the <strong>2026\u201327 annual plan<\/strong>, particularly in view of the proposed extension of the Miyapur\u2013LB Nagar Metro corridor to Hayathnagar under Phase II.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u20b91,230 Crore Ropeway Projects<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The minister also sought approval for <strong>five ropeway projects<\/strong> in Telangana under the <strong>Parvatmala scheme<\/strong>, with an estimated cost of <strong>\u20b91,230 crore<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The projects are intended to improve connectivity to major tourism and spiritual destinations while providing an eco-friendly transport option for devotees, tourists and local commuters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Expansion of Hyderabad\u2013Vijayawada NH-65<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Venkat Reddy urged the Centre to expedite the expansion of the <strong>Hyderabad\u2013Vijayawada\u2013Machilipatnam NH-65<\/strong> into a six-lane highway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said traffic on the highway has crossed <strong>1.20 lakh Passenger Car Units (PCUs)<\/strong> and pointed to several accident-prone locations and hazardous stretches. He stressed that the expansion is essential to meet rising traffic demand and improve road safety between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Elevated Corridor Through Nallamala Forest<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The minister also requested approval for an <strong>elevated corridor on NH-765 between Hyderabad and Srisailam<\/strong>, particularly through the tiger reserve forest area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the proposal, the elevated structure would reduce the need for road expansion inside the forest, improve safety and convenience for Srisailam-bound travellers, and help protect the ecology of the <strong>Nallamala forest region<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">33 Road Projects Seeking \u20b91,227.75 Crore<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Venkat Reddy requested Central funding for <strong>33 road development projects<\/strong> under the <strong>Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF)<\/strong> for 2026\u201327.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proposed projects cover <strong>511.68 km<\/strong> at an estimated cost of <strong>\u20b91,227.75 crore<\/strong>. The minister said the projects proposed by MPs and MLAs would support balanced regional development across Telangana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Push for Hyderabad Regional Ring Road<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The minister also sought speedy financial and Union Cabinet approval for the <strong>northern section of the Hyderabad Regional Ring Road (RRR)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 161.518-km northern section will run through <strong>Sangareddy\u2013Narsapur\u2013Toopran\u2013Gajwel\u2013Jagadevpur\u2013Bhongir\u2013Choutuppal<\/strong>. Venkat Reddy said the Telangana government is prepared to bear <strong>50 per cent of the land acquisition cost<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He further stated that award approvals for more than <strong>90 per cent of the land<\/strong> have already been secured and that the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited tenders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The minister also requested the Centre to take up the <strong>southern section of the RRR<\/strong> on the same priority, completing the ring around Hyderabad. He said the southern RRR would be important for future developments, including <strong>Bharat Future City, industrial parks and radial roads<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hyderabad\u2013Amaravati Greenfield Expressway<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Venkat Reddy also sought acceleration of the <strong>Detailed Project Report (DPR)<\/strong> and further progress on the proposed <strong>Hyderabad\u2013Amaravati Greenfield Expressway<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said the expressway would strengthen connectivity between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and support freight movement.
