Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao of Telangana has praised the creator of the Indian Constitution, Dr. BR Ambedkar, for his vision of economic and social justice, as well as equal justice for all, including Dalits and tribal groups. The CM specifically highlighted Article 3, which was drafted and incorporated into the constitution with special care for separate states after many discussions with Ambedkar.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n CM KCR called Ambedkar a “Telangana bandhu” and an “all-rounder” who paved the way for the realization of Telangana state. He expressed the need for a grand unveiling ceremony for a statue of Ambedkar, which he believes will excite the Telangana community and the entire country. The CM held a high-level review meeting to discuss arrangements for a public meeting to be held after the unveiling on April 14, Ambedkar’s birthday.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n During the meeting, the CM praised the statue sculptor, 98-year-old Padma Bhushan awardee Ram Vanji Sutar, and ordered that he be specially invited and honored. He emphasized that Ambedkar’s hard work and sacrifice as a constitution maker for the future generations of the people of India, particularly Dalits, tribals, and Bahujans, was eternal.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The CM ordered officials to make arrangements for the convenience of guests and people coming from all corners of the state for the unveiling of the statue. He also ordered that tents be set up for shade and arrangements made for drinking water and buttermilk for Ambedkar’s fans who will come to visit him after the unveiling.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Finally, CM KCR recalled his own efforts 40 years ago, when he set up a study center called the “Centre for Subaltern Studies” to study the status of Dalits in India compared to oppressed groups worldwide.
