Despite the caste-based discrimination he faced, Phule was fortunate to receive an education at an English missionary school in Pune. This experience had a profound impact on him, and he realized that education was the key to social reform and emancipation of the marginalized sections of the society.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In 1848, Phule started a school for girls from lower castes, which was unheard of at the time. He faced stiff opposition from the upper castes, who saw his actions as a threat to their dominance. Nevertheless, Phule persisted and continued to work towards the education and empowerment of marginalized communities.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In 1873, Phule founded the Satya Shodhak Samaj (Society of Seekers of Truth), which aimed to eliminate the caste system and promote the education and rights of all people, regardless of their caste or gender. He also wrote extensively on the need for women&#8217;s education and their rights. His works had a significant impact on the social and political discourse in India, and inspired many others to take up the cause of social reform.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Phule&#8217;s contributions to the social reform movement in India were monumental, and he is regarded as a hero by many.
