Indian archer Vennam Jyothi Surekha has set a new world record in the ongoing World Cup Stage 1 tournament held in Antalya, Turkey. Surekha, a star compound archer, achieved this feat by scoring a perfect 360\/360 in a single 50 round.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the ranking round, Surekha scored an impressive total of 713\/720 in the double 50 round, consisting of 353 and 360 scores. This score earned her the first rank in the ranking round, and it is also equal to the world record set by Sara Lopez from Colombia on 29th August 2015 in Medellin, Colombia.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Surekha’s single 50 round score of 360 is a new world record, surpassing the previous record of 356 set by Sara Lopez in Colombia in 2015.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Indian compound women’s team comprising Surekha, Aditi, and Avaneeth Kaur secured the first rank in the ranking round. The compound mixed team, consisting of Surekha and Ojas Praveen, achieved the second rank. The men’s team, comprising Ojas, Rajith Chowhan, and Prathanesh, secured the 6th rank.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Surekha’s incredible performance has created a buzz in the world of archery and has raised hopes for India’s prospects in the tournament. The Indian team will now look to continue their fine form and win medals in the upcoming matches.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday\u2019s action also saw Jyothi Surekha Vennam<\/a> equal the existing women\u2019s individual world record, the Indian\u2019s score of 713 points seeing her top qualifying and guarantee top seeding \u2013 two points ahead of Dafne Quintero<\/a> in second, with seven-time World Cup Champion Sara Lopez<\/a> in third and current world number one Ella Gibson<\/a> in fourth.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lopez and compatriot Daniel Munoz <\/a>led qualifying in the mixed team event, with the Colombians combined score of 1424 seeing them finish ahead of India and Denmark in the qualification standings.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Elsewhere, Vennam helped India qualify top in the compound women\u2019s team event, with a combined total of 2112 alongside teammates Avneet Kaur<\/a> and Aditi Gopichand Swami<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Indian trio were closely followed by a Mexico team featuring Quintero, with Colombia \u2013 again led by Lopez \u2013 qualifying for Wednesday\u2019s team eliminations round in third place. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mathias Fullerton<\/a> secured top seeding and was close to the individual men\u2019s world record in Tuesday\u2019s qualification competition, with the Dane\u2019s score of 717 just one point off the existing total previously set by Gellenthien.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following on from his team success, Sullivan qualified in second position in the individual men\u2019s competition, while Roberto Hernandez <\/a>finishing in third.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Action continues on Wednesday with the compound team eliminations and recurve qualification.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
