The latest report, titled ‘State of World Population Report-2023’, highlights India’s position as the world’s most populous country, marking the first time since 1950 that India has topped the list. The report also reveals that China’s population stands at 1.4257 billion, 2.9 million less than India’s.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report projects that India’s population will continue to grow, reaching 1.668 billion by 2050. Currently, 25% of India’s population is under the age of 14, with 68% aged between 15 and 64 years and 7% above 65 years. Additionally, there are 254 million young people aged between 15 and 24 years.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
