The Janata Dal (Secular) or JD(S) is expected to win 20 to 24 seats, while &#8216;Others&#8217;, including Independent candidates, may secure 1 to 3 seats.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In the previous 2018 elections, the BJP emerged victorious with 104 seats, followed by the Congress with 80 seats, JD(S) with 37 seats, and &#8216;Others&#8217; with three seats.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The exit poll also indicates a potential increase in the Congress&#8217; vote share. The Congress is projected to receive 41.57 percent of the votes, with the BJP securing 35.61 percent, JD(S) with 16.1 percent, and &#8216;Others&#8217; with 6.72 percent.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In the 2018 elections, the Congress secured 38.04 percent of the votes, while the BJP received 36.22 percent, JD(S) obtained 18.36 percent, and &#8216;Others&#8217; garnered 7.38 percent.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Furthermore, the exit poll presents caste and community-wise projections. The Congress is expected to receive significant support, with 72 percent of Kuruba votes, 19 percent of Lingayat votes, 22 percent of Vokkaliga votes, 39 percent of Scheduled Caste (SC) votes, 33 percent of Other Backward Class (OBC) votes, 43 percent of Scheduled Tribe (ST) votes, and a substantial 82 percent of Muslim votes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Conversely, the BJP is projected to secure 14 percent of Kuruba votes, a substantial 70 percent of Lingayat votes, 17 percent of Vokkaliga votes, 41 percent of SC votes, 52 percent of OBC votes, 34 percent of ST votes, and a mere 2 percent of Muslim votes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The projections suggest that the JD(S) may receive 53 percent of Vokkaliga votes in the southern state.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Delhi, May 10: The India TV-CNX exit poll results released on Wednesday indicate that the Congress is poised to become the single-largest party in Karnataka, securing an estimated 110 to 120 seats in the 224-member Assembly.
