Telangana on High Alert as Incessant Rains Trigger Floods\nHyderabad, July 27: The Telangana government has placed the entire state administration on high alert as heavy rains continue to batter the region for the past few days. Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari stated that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has directed senior officials, district collectors, and police superintendents to constantly monitor the flood situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The government has activated the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and Fire Service teams to be prepared for rescue and relief operations in case of emergencies. A dedicated control room has been set up in the state secretariat to closely monitor the flood situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several districts in North Telangana have been experiencing continuous downpours, with rainfall reaching 30 to 40 cm in some areas. Moranchapalli village in Bhupalpalli district is submerged due to the overflowing Moranchavagu, and the district administration has relocated villagers to safer locations. NDRF teams are being dispatched to assist with the situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Mulugu district, 80 stranded tourists were rescued, and children from a residential school were shifted to safer places due to waterlogging. Warangal and Hanumakonda towns are also facing inundation, and the district administration is evacuating residents to ensure their safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, the Godavari river is flowing dangerously at Bhadrachalam, prompting a second danger alert, and authorities are preparing to shift people from low-lying areas to relief camps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Given the significant outflow from the Kadem project, measures are being taken to relocate residents from catchment areas to safer places. The state is taking precautions to prevent untoward incidents in areas where ponds, canals, and tanks are reaching full capacity. The public is advised to avoid vulnerable areas and causeways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
