Hyderabad, Sep 11: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao lauded the remarkable success of the state’s ‘Haritha Haram’ program, which has been instrumental in rejuvenating forests and expanding green cover with widespread community support. Speaking on Forest Martyrs’ Day, observed on September 11, the Chief Minister commended the dedication of the state’s Forest Department in achieving these results.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He called on all sections of society to collaborate towards the goal of achieving a 33 percent green cover in Telangana, emphasizing that envisioning a society without forests and greenery is impractical. The Telangana government has been steadfast in its commitment to environmental preservation, formulating action plans soon after the state’s formation, and the positive outcomes are evident within just a decade.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting the significance of environmental conservation, Chief Minister KCR noted that Hyderabad recently received the “World Green City Award – 2022” from the International Association of Horticulture. This recognition was a testament to the city’s efforts to enhance its green cover, especially in the face of significant urban development.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

KCR stressed that the primary mission should be the preservation of nature, as global warming has become an alarming concern due to insufficient protective measures for the environment. He urged everyone to shoulder the responsibility of safeguarding the planet for present and future generations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expressing his respect and gratitude, Chief Minister KCR paid tribute to the 22 officers and staff of the Forest Department who lost their lives while fulfilling their duties. Their unwavering commitment to forest protection serves as an inspiration to all.
