Thiruvananthapuram, September 24: K.G. George, the renowned filmmaker of Kerala, passed away at the age of 77 in an old age home located in Kakkanad, Kochi, on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
K.G. George was an iconic figure in the Malayalam film industry, known for his groundbreaking and challenging cinematic creations. His film, ‘Panchavadi Palam,’ remains a timeless political satire with a message still relevant today. The movie was not only a commercial success but also considered one of the finest productions in the history of Malayalam cinema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another notable work by K.G. George, ‘Irakal,’ is a crime thriller that bore uncanny resemblances to several real-life incidents that unfolded in Kerala, despite being made three decades ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His directorial skills brought out the best performances from acclaimed actors like Mammotty and Bharath Gopi in the film ‘Yavanika.’ ‘Lekhayude Maranam, oru Flashback,’ based on the mysterious death of a film heroine, was another critically acclaimed hit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
