New Delhi, September 24: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has accused the BJP of employing diversionary tactics through its MPs Ramesh Bidhuri and Nishikant Dubey to deflect attention from the idea of conducting a caste census.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking at a conclave in New Delhi, the Congress leader asserted that the BJP’s election strategy revolves around creating distractions and preventing their opponents from building their narratives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rahul Gandhi stated that the Congress is poised to secure victories, possibly in Telangana and certainly in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, with a strong presence in Rajasthan, a sentiment reportedly echoed within the BJP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He emphasized the lessons learned from the Karnataka elections, where the BJP’s distractions were effectively countered. Rahul Gandhi revealed, “What you’re seeing today, Bidhuri, and then suddenly this Nishikant Dubey, this is all the BJP trying to distract from the idea of the caste census. They know the caste census is a fundamental thing people of India want, and they don’t want to have a discussion. So every time they bring a point on the table to distract us, we have learned how to deal with it.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He continued, “We have learned how to deal with it. In Karnataka, we gave a clear vision, and now we are in control of the narrative. No matter what they (BJP) try to do, we are now in control of the narrative.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A recent controversy arose when BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri directed derogatory and abusive language at Bahujan Samaj Party MP Kunwar Danish Ali during a parliamentary session. Rahul Gandhi and party general secretary K.C. Venugopal visited the BSP leader to express their solidarity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rahul Gandhi asserted that the Congress is effectively steering the narrative in states where elections are scheduled later this year, contrasting the BJP’s unsuccessful attempts to control the narrative during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, despite significant financial investments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He concluded by stating, “The opposition is 60 per cent of India’s population, and BJP is in for a surprise in 2024.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
