Nizamabad (Telangana), October 3: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a slew of projects worth Rs 8,000 crore in Telangana today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During a ceremony held in Nizamabad, he officially unveiled the first 800 MW unit of Phase 1 of the Telangana Super Thermal Power Project, which is a venture of the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) situated in Peddapalli district. He mentioned that the second unit of the plant is set to commence operations soon, increasing the plant’s total capacity to 4,000 MW. Prime Minister Modi proudly highlighted that this is the most modern plant among NTPC’s facilities nationwide, with a significant portion of the electricity generated to be supplied to Telangana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He emphasized the government’s commitment to not only initiating projects but also seeing them through to completion. Reflecting on his foundation stone laying ceremony for this project in 2016, he expressed his satisfaction at being able to inaugurate it, underscoring the government’s new work ethic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a significant development for Telangana’s rail infrastructure, Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated several railway projects, including a new railway line connecting Manoharabad and Siddipet, as well as the electrification project between Dharmabad-Manoharabad and Mahabubnagar-Kurnool. The 76-kilometer-long Manoharabad-Siddipet rail line is expected to catalyze socio-economic growth in the region, especially in the Medak and Siddipet districts. The electrification projects will contribute to faster train speeds and more eco-friendly rail transport in the area. The Prime Minister noted that Indian Railways is pursuing the goal of 100 percent electrification of all rail lines in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi flagged off the Siddipet-Secunderabad-Siddipet train service, providing a significant benefit to local rail commuters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of the Pradhan Mantri-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission, Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for 20 Critical Care Blocks (CCBs) to be constructed across the state. These CCBs will be strategically located in districts including Adilabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Jogulamba Gadwal, Hyderabad, Khammam, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Mahabubnagar (Badepally), Mulugu, Nagarkurnool, Nalgonda, Narayanpet, Nirmal, Rajanna Sircilla, Ranga Reddy (Maheshwaram), Suryapet, Peddapalli, Vikarabad, and Warangal (Narsampet).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prime Minister Modi underscored the government’s dedication to making healthcare accessible and affordable, citing the implementation of the world’s largest health insurance scheme, Ayushman Bharat, which has benefited more than 70 lakh people in Telangana alone, providing free treatment up to Rs. 5 lakh. He highlighted that the CCBs will be equipped with dedicated isolation wards and oxygen supply facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ceremony was attended by Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and Union Minister for Tourism and Culture G. Kishan Reddy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
