New Delhi: The Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting, led by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, delved into discussions regarding at least 70 out of Telangana’s total of 119 assembly seats, according to party leaders.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CEC meeting, which took place at the party’s headquarters, was attended by prominent Congress figures, including party MPs Rahul Gandhi, Congress General Secretary, Organisation, K.C. Venugopal, Telangana Congress chief A. Revanth Reddy, Screening Committee Chairman K. Muralidharan, state incharge Manikrao Thakre, and others. The senior leaders engaged in extensive discussions on candidate selection, spanning over three hours.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Muralidharan, speaking to the media after the meeting, conveyed, “Today we have discussed 70 out of 119 seats, and further deliberation is necessary to finalize all the seats.” He noted that the Congress would soon announce the complete list of candidates in one go.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Congress is actively preparing to compete in the forthcoming Telangana assembly elections with the goal of defeating the ruling BRS party and coming to power in the southern state. The party is set to commence a yatra in Telangana on October 18, with Rahul Gandhi participating for three consecutive days until October 20.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
