Hyderabad December 03
The BRS party, formerly known for its role in the Telangana agitation, suffered an unexpected setback in the elections. Despite winning in the last two terms as TRS, this time, running under the banner of BRS, the party faced defeat. Dissatisfaction in rural areas, particularly regarding the focus on Hyderabad, crop loss neglect, and unfulfilled promises like loan waivers, resulted in a negative response from voters. Political analysts, considering the impact of Karnataka’s results, predicted a potential shift in Telangana. The overconfidence of the pink party leaders and underestimation of Revanth Reddy’s leadership proved detrimental. Congress secured an absolute majority, defying earlier expectations and showcasing a significant political shift in Telangana.
