New Delhi, Dec 11: US Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy faced an unexpected moment during a live X Spaces session with 2.3 million viewers, including Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk. The tech billionaire, engaged in a discussion about bringing back Alex Jones to his social media platform, had to abruptly excuse himself with an announcement, “Gentleman, I have to go.”

As the session continued, the unmistakable sound of running water emanated from the background. Alex Jones pointed out the noise, and Mario Nawful quickly identified that it was coming from Ramaswamy’s phone.

“Somebody’s got their phone in the bathroom,” remarked Jones.

“Vivek, that’s your phone. But I am not able to mute you,” clarified Nawful.

Upon his return to the session, Ramaswamy apologized for the abrupt departure. Elon Musk, in a light-hearted tone, quipped, “I hope you feel better now.”

In a related development, Musk decided to reinstate the account of conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on X, a move that may lead to further advertiser concerns over the platform’s potential association with antisemitism and hateful content. Musk confirmed the reinstatement following a poll on X, where nearly two million votes were cast, with almost 70 per cent favoring Jones’ return.

Jones had been suspended from Twitter in 2018 for violating the company’s “abusive behaviour policy.”
