In a noteworthy administrative update, the appointment of new Commissioners of Police has been announced for three major commissionerates. The following individuals will now lead their respective regions:

  1. Hyderabad CP: Kottakota Srinivasa Reddy
  2. Cyberabad CP: Avinash Mahanty
  3. Rachakonda CP: Sudhir Babu

These strategic appointments bring seasoned leadership to each commissionerate, reflecting a commitment to bolstering law enforcement efforts and ensuring the safety and security of the communities they serve.

Government of Telangana Announces Key IPS Transfers and Postings

In a recent directive issued by the General Administration (Special-B) Department, the Government of Telangana has formalized the transfer and posting of several IPS officers. The order, numbered G.O.Rt. 1632 and dated 12.12.2023, was issued following a letter (Lr. No.9/G1/2023) from the Director General of Police, TS, Hyderabad.

The key transfers and postings include:

  1. Sri Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy, IPS (RR:1994): Formerly Additional Director General of Police, Organizations & Legal, Telangana, Hyderabad, has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Police for Hyderabad City, succeeding Sri Sandeep Shandilya, IPS.
  2. Sri Sandeep Shandilya, IPS (RR:1993): On transfer, is now assigned the position of Director, Telangana State Anti Narcotics Bureau, Hyderabad.
  3. Sri G.Sudheer Babu, IPS (SPS:2001): Previously Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad City, now assumes the role of Commissioner of Police for Rachakonda, succeeding Sri Devendra Singh Chauhan, IPS.
  4. Sri Avinash Mohanty, IPS (RR:2005): Formerly Joint Commissioner of Police (Admin), Cyberabad, takes charge as the new Commissioner of Police for Cyberabad, succeeding Sri M.Stephen Raveendra, IPS (RR:1999).
  5. Sri Devendra Singh Chauhan, IPS (RR:1997) and Sri M.Stephen Raveendra, IPS (RR:1999): Upon transfer, directed to report to the Office of the Director General of Police, Telangana State, Hyderabad.

These strategic reshufflings within the IPS cadre aim to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of law enforcement in various capacities across Telangana. The changes are set to take effect immediately.
